Dominique Layt has Board and Committee experience, over 30 years as an executive risk and financial services specialist with particular expertise in governance, risk and compliance, enterprise risk management, strategic planning, disruptive strategy, customer strategy/ experience/retention and people development. She is based in Brisbane, Queensland.

The variety and depth of roles she has held during her career has given her a detailed understanding of business operations. She has led governance, risk and compliance, strategy, marketing and communications and operations teams as well as customer insights and retention for an ASX 20 company. She also has formal qualifications in governance, management, disruptive strategy, human resource management, financial services and project management.

 

Dominique worked in strategy during the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) before setting up risk management at an ASX top 20 financial services company. During the Queensland Floods in 2011 she was the Acting Chief Risk Officer managing business continuity, customers in hardship and a workforce that were operating from their homes.

Risk & Governance

As an enterprise risk specialist, Dominique has acted as Chief Risk Officer, managed oversight of operational risk and compliance, and designed assurance and governance frameworks. this includes establishing risk frameworks and operations during the GFC and managing through the 2011 South East Queensland floods with the workforce operating under their business continuity plan from home.

Strategy

Dominique has developed both defensive and growth strategies whilst leading the strategy and business planning department during the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) and beyond. She has developed business plans in her volunteer committee and Chair roles. In her roles at Suncorp she managed multiple levels of stakeholders both internally and externally, along with reputational risk, which needed to be considered and managed in key decision making. Her experience during the GFC, 2011 Floods and the Financial Services Royal Commission have provided excellent experience which can be leveraged for your business.

Disruptive Strategy

Dominique has completed the Harvard Business School Online Certificate in Disruptive Strategy which was developed by thought leader the late Clay Christensen which included how to discover customer jobs to be done, not just look for customer pain points, how to organise for innovation and how to maintain a disruptive scope for your business.

Customer Experience

Dominique has led customer strategy, customer experience, customer retention and customer insights for an ASX top 20 company. This included market research and customer segmentation, customer retention and the design and implementation of a customer strategy which lifted customer satisfaction results to number one in the industry. An element of this program included the customer interaction model which influenced an upgrade of the Standard and Poor's credit rating by embedding customer-centric needs-based conversations with deepening customer relationships resulting in financial performance uplift.

Transformation/ Innovation

At an ASX top 20 company Dominique has led design and development of customer-centric propositions using lean start-up methodology. During a period of significant organisational change, she engaged cross-functional project teams to prototype, test, scale and embed new propositions including delivering robust commercial modelling and forecasting to ensure the return on investment for development of new capability, products an services was defined. Delivery was made possible through quality leadership, direction and development during a period of ongoing business transformation. She developed a digital offering to meet the needs of small business customers partnering with a NZ based start-up.
